*.* is the vietnam trip a purposeful one? *.*

finally, i am like blogging again as in typing words in my blog instead of just uploading photos...which is a lazy way of explaining my experiences and the events that happened. i do write my experiences and reflections in my personal dairy, but this i think i would like to share. i found this vietnam trip a purposeful one. its not just a trip whereby i can make new friends, enjoy myself, help the poor people there, enrich myself and learn things there...but its an opportunity and chance for me to share the gospel to the others. before i left for this trip, a sister in christ called me and told me about making this trip a purposeful one, there is a reason that God has sent me in this trip. and i began to think about it. Its true. 16 days on this trip. 16 days spent with the people there. its a long and good opportunity to share the good news. and i really want to thank God for this opportunity. i shared to a number of them and i want to thank God that He has been watching over me and thank God for granting me with wisdom as to what i should say. moreover, we spent good friday and easter sunday there. so its a good chance. i came across rejecting ones, but also across some who are though unbelieving but are willing to listen and we even talked about it for quite a while, which i really want to thank The Lord. it was great to hear their experiences and how they think about it. i realised that most of their answers are that christians they came across are very forceful and forced them to believe. some even tricked them into events. when i heard this, i was a little disappointed at how christians force them into believing. one told me that when she said she needed time to think, the christians immediately gave a black face. another told me that a friend tricked him into a worship service when he was told that it was a sports event. i thought about this... wont this make people make rejecting? wont it make them more unwilling to accept?wont this make people see christians being terrifying? wont this people not to trust anymore? i thought...what kind of attitude should we be showing that will show the truth of God. are we potraying ourselves like what God wants us to be? when we do this, what does it show of us as a christian? personally, i feel that what is most important is that we share the gospel to others so that they know who God is and what He had done for us..Dying on the cross to save us. it is the work of the Holy Spirit that opens their hearts, for them to accept and to see the light of God. The use of force is not the way. but i know that the christians do that is because they are eager for people to accept God, to save them. but to the non christians, they may not see it that way, they may just feel pressured and uncomfortable. i had to assure my friends many times that i will not force them or to trick them into events before they feel comfortable to talk and are willing to join in events if they can make it. Thank God for that. there is another friend that told me about the difficulties he faced in a relationship. and when i wanted to tell him about God planning and purpose, he immediately rejected and said that he doesnt want to hear about christianity stuffs. after sharing with my sister in christ about this experience, she told me that i should not jump into the purpose and planning immediately, cos to someone who feels things are not right, its difficult for them to see that its planned by God. instead, i shld say that these difficulties showed the imperfection of man. from there, i could go on to the creation of the world that God has made and then how a perfect world that God has made has become imperfect and bring in sin. i have really learnt a lot from this trip and i pray that God will continue to use me as an instrument to share His word and pray for all those who i have shared to, that the Holy Spirit will open up their hearts. Also for more opportunities for me to share to the others who have yet to hear the good news.
